Equestrian Park users give feedback at Town Hall meeting
|
Salt Lake County is gathering information and citizen input regarding the Equestrian Park in South Jordan. This week, hundreds of passionate users and supporters turned out for the town hall Monday night that took place in the indoor arena. The event received a lot of coverage, including pieces in Fox13, KUTV, ABC4, and Deseret News.
I’m grateful to Mayor Ben McAdams and his staff for putting on a very well-run event that allowed the council to hear valuable input from the community. I’m also grateful to the people who came to share their views and hear from the council and mayor’s office.
It is important to me throughout this discussion to ensure we follow the right process. This week’s town hall was an important piece in the process to ensure the council and mayor’s office have good perspective from the community. |
We’ll soon take a close look at the different options, including how much maintenance or investment would cost the county, as well as the economic and community value of the park. The feedback from the equestrian community has been integral to helping us understand the issue, and will continue to be helpful as we move forward. I remain committed to honoring our stewardship of taxpayer dollars, as well as weighing any costs against the impact and value of the park.
